John Harabedian was top vote getter at 1364 for 4 year term
There is a “Changing of the Guard” at Sierra Madre City council. Longtime councilperson Mary Ann MacGillivray lost her reelection bid to relative newcomers.
Chris Koerber was voted in for former councilperson Joe Mosca’s remaining two years . John Harabedian and John Capoccia were elected for the two 4-year seats on the Council.
Measure 12-1, the extension of the UUT to pay for public safety was defeated, 61% to 39% .
Richard Mays and Nancy Shollenberger, both running unopposed, will serve as City Treasurer and City Clerk for the next four years.
According to City Clerk Shollenberger, there are 35 provisional ballots and 7 Vote by Mail (VBM) ballots remaining to be counted from Precinct 2, 27 provisional and 36 VBM from Precinct 6, and 25 provisional and 60 VBM from Precinct 10. Those ballotrs will be counted Tuesday at City Hall.
Local blogger John Crawford summed up the election with this tribute to Mary Ann MacGillivray… “We won 4 out of 5. But the one we lost is tragic.”
