Sierra Madre Blotters: Jan. 29 – Feb. 5

Jan. 28

Video surveillance cameras showed a male Asian picking up a cell phone from a counter top left by another customer and walk out the door of a business in the 100 block of West Sierra Madre Boulevard. The victim stated that she left the phone there while she paid her bill. The case was forwarded to detectives.

Jan. 31

At about 12:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Liliano Drive. to follow up on a report of a suspicious person. A person and vehicle matching the description was seen traveling west on Grandview Ave. where officers noticed two vehicle violations and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. A check on the driver revealed a warrant out of San Bernardino County. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and he was transported to the West Valley Detention Center for booking. A search of the vehicle produced a replica firearm with the orange tip removed and two masks. The case was forwarded to detectives.

Feb. 2

SMPD officers conduct a traffic stop for a vehicle violation in the 200 block of West Orange Grove Avenue at about 2:09 p.m. The driver of the vehicle was a Baldwin Park gang member, on probation and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and transported to Pasadena Jail for booking. The case was forwarded to detectives.

At 1:42 p.m., officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for a moving violation. During the interview of the driver process, it was discovered that the driver had an expired driver’s license and an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The officer’s discovered several pieces of mail behind the back seat. The driver was arrested and transported to Pasadena Jail. The case was forwarded to detectives.9:20 p.m.

A burglary report revealed that sometime between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2. Unknown suspect(s) gained access to the rear of a property in the 400 block of North Sunnyside Avenue. Once in the rear yard the suspect(s) broke the glass window on the first floor entrance and entered the home. The bedrooms were ransacked, however at this time it is unknown if any property was taken. The case was forwarded to detectives.

Feb. 4

A vehicle stop was conducted for a vehicle code violation. The driver of the vehicle was unlicensed, was in possession of drug paraphernalia, and had a warrant. The driver was arrested and booked at the Pasadena Jail. The case has been referred to the DA’s office.
